TheReel Foodsystemfocuses on small-scale aquaculture, raising clean Tilapia in family sized quantities, or in larger quantities for a small family farm where Tilapia is the main crop. As shown in the above diagram, the water continuously cycles from the fish tanks, through the filtration, and back to the fish. The sump tank contains partially filtered, nutrient-rich water that can be used as a by-product to grow vegetables and fruit. Either way, the water continuously cycles back to the fish. This system conserves water and yields additional by-products of dried fertilizer for plants and fish meal (a feed ingredient for animals).
